A business built on the members' personal participation and contributions, in which members hold equal voting rights.
Who answers for the company's debts?
A member's liability is limited to their contribution. The member does not answer for the cooperative's debts with personal assets.
What capital does founding take?
No uniform statutory minimum; the statutes set the share capital, and members contribute through share notes.
Who typically chooses it?
Housing cooperatives, agricultural and savings cooperatives. A frequent form in NAV's register — hundreds of housing cooperatives appear in it.
How does it show in company data?
The name ends in "Szövetkezet". One of the commonest forms in NAV's VAT register.
