Jegyzett tőke (registered capital)
The capital the owners placed at the company's disposal, as entered in the register.
Also known as: törzstőke, alaptőke, share capital.
For a Kft. it is called törzstőke, for a company limited by shares alaptőke. The amount stands in the register and changes only by court decision — so it does not track the company's actual financial position.
By itself it therefore says little: a company founded with the minimum capital can have large revenue, and one with high registered capital can be loss-making. Equity is the more telling figure.
