Összes kiadás (total expenses)
What the company spent in one business year: materials, wages, depreciation and every other expense together.
Also known as: total expenditure.
The expense side of the income statement, folded into one line. The difference between total revenue and total expenses gives the pre-tax result, from which tax is deducted to reach the profit after tax.
By itself it says little: a large retail chain naturally spends a lot. Set against revenue it shows how much stays with the company — if the two move together year after year, the company holds level; if expenses grow faster, the result narrows.
